This year has been a rough one, but with wearing masks and staying in, it was the perfect time to try out new skincare. Skincare is my favorite, and I always look for things that are gentle, fade marks, and don’t have too many harsh chemicals. Since I haven’t been going to too many places, I decide to wear many protective styles, but when I do wear my natural hair, I use Mane Choice’s Do It “Fro” The Culture line and supplement with different oils for my scalp and ends.
I love this line. Everything is naturally-derived and definitely shows results. I used everything up, but I still have some scrub and charcoal mask left. I didn’t use all of the break-out spot treatment since I don’t have a lot, but it’s definitely good to have on hand. I bought the Fade MAX routine, which includes:
- 2 oz Super Smoothie Cleanser
- 2 oz Tropics Toner
- 1 oz Tropics Moisturizer
- 1.5 oz Charcoal Mask
- 0.5 Bright Citrus Serum
- 1 oz Enzyme Scrub
- Full-Sized Break-Out Spot Treatment
This is perfect if you want less harsh products and are just focused on cleansing your skin. I used their moisturizing facial wash when I wear makeup or just want a good cleanse. Their line is also super affordable. I’ve tried their moisturizer and makeup wipes, but they also have micellar water.
I just purchased this on Cyber Monday with a great discount. I was looking for something that helps my skin exfoliate without an extremely harsh reaction. It came with an exfoliating treatment, daily foaming wash, and glow moisturizer.
My favorite cleansing bar is the “3-in-1 Even Tone Cleansing Bar”. I used 3 jars of this, and I think it works pretty well. It comes with a sponge to aid exfoliation. You cleanse the skin and leave it on for a few minutes as a mask. It has kojic acid, azelaic acid, niacinamide, and licorice root to fade post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
I was sent this product by DRMTLGY and used the entire jar. It helped my skin stay smooth. I feel like the source of my skin problems is my skin not exfoliating successfully on its own, and once dead skin cells get trapped, it causes a whole problem.
This oil is perfect for itchy scalps, but the invigorating mint is perfect for stimulating circulation and hair growth. Blueberry and mint is not a combination I would have thought to put together.
JBCO is known to grow out hair. It brings intense moisture and helps seals split ends. People use it on their lashes and eyebrows for regrowth as well.
This is my favorite line by Mane Choice. It smells like buttery cookies, and everything has charcoal in it to keep the hair and scalp detoxified, promoting a weightless afro.
